Pregnant Women

It is important that pregnant women keep themselves safe when in the car. The seat belt may not be comfortable for pregnant women as it may be hard to do up, or it might ride up against the abdomen.

How to correctly wear the seat belt

Pregnant women need to wear the belt low down under their bump. The belt if worn too high could cause pressure across the abdomen during an accident that could harm your unborn child. You should never ride in the car without a belt. Doing so could harm yourself and your unborn child.

The maternity seat belt helps pregnant women to be comfortable in the car, some women do not wear their seat belt because of the discomfort it causes.

It is inexpensive and can be used by all women in any cars. It is easily adjusted and easy to remove from the vehicle seat and to use when getting into and out of the car.

A maternity seat belt can be used in along with your vehicle seat belt. It works by pulling the lap portion down slightly to keep the lap belt under the bump as shown in the next images.

The sash portion then should rest between your breasts, if not adjust this by moving the shoulder knob up or down as needed. If your car does not come with an adjuster (some 2 door and older vehicles will not have this feature) adjust your vehicle seat to push your bottom and back forward more.

You can buy your very own maternity belt at www.kiwibaby.com for $65.00 and it includes free shipping*!
