We recommend checking for a technician via Safe2Go's website or visiting your local Plunket Car Seat Rental Scheme for advice and assistance in the mean time.

We for any apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

• We will check and note the make, model and manufacture date of your car seat - we will tell you the life span ( & expiry date) of your car seat and inform you of any recalls placed on your seat.

• We will check how the seat is currently installed - we will make any changes to the install and use if this is not correct and explain these changes to you.
  We will show you what could happen to your child if your child restraint is not installed correctly.

• We will check and note the make, model and type of car that the seat is currently installed in.
  We will also record details of tether points, isofix/latch and seat belt type.
  We will advise you of the best install method available in your car, and we will inform you if you need to have tether bolts installed.

• We will help you to select your child's next car seat or booster seat based on your vehicle type, child's individual stats and your personal budget - we will not pass judgment on personal limitations or budget.

• We will answer any questions you have on child restraints and if we don't have the answer, we will find out, and get back to you.

• Initial checks take about 1 hour in duration. Follow up checks take about 15 - 30 minutes depending on the request made.

• For rear facing installs please bring (or have handy) a few assorted sized towels to assist a correct angle install. Jacquard beach towels tend to work the best when used for installs. (If unsure, bring one along anyway, sometimes they are needed for forward facing installs too).

• NZ Child Restraints reserves the right to cancel an appointment where the weather renders a check unsuitable or where personal safety may be at risk. A reschedule will be made before your original appointment.

• Residents outside of these areas may meet us in a public location (located on Auckland's North Shore City) for a seat check to be carried out. NZCR may request that you come to them in the case of time constraints.

• We will show you how to install your child's car seat, answer questions and provide advice on the best car seat to purchase based on your individual family needs. We will not promote any specific car seat by any company and will offer a choice of 2-3 seats that best suit your needs.

• Seat installs will be preformed and discussed by the technician so you can observe while this is being done. We also encourage parents to install the seat themselves (while we are present) to check that you are able to do it on your own. NZCR will not be held responsible for incorrect installs by the individual if the seat is not installed while we are present. A signature is required on the completion of all car seat checks.
